How to Check Google Voice Routing Options for LeadTruffle

Check Google Voice forwarding limits and Workspace auto attendant options before routing calls to LeadTruffle. Includes account checks and testing steps.

Quick Answer

tl;dr: Google does not support forwarding ordinary Google Voice linked-number calls to an automated system. Google Workspace Voice Standard or Premier offers automated-attendant transfers, but your administrator must verify the route and LeadTruffle destination. There is no universal five-minute missed-call setup.

Use the following steps to view your account and schedule a business route with support.

Personal Google Voice and Workspace Voice work differently

Eligible phones ring for Google Voice calls with linked numbers. This is not to imply that an automated answering destination is supported, or that calls can be held for a personal no-answer time-out before transferring.

Business call-routing controls are available with Workspace automated attendants. Menu selection after hours, or outbound calls to other numbers when the user is off line, is different use case from forwarding missed calls on a user's number. Your administrator will need to determine which call path is suitable for your needs.

1. Identify your account and required call path

Determine if you are using Google Voice or Google Workspace Voice, and what Workspace plan you are on. Note the location that the public number is currently ringing.

Determine if calls should be transferred immediately, after a menu choice, out of business hours, and/or when no one answers. Don't assume that those behaviors are the same.

2. Check eligibility before changing routing

Read Google's support for linked numbers. If you have your own Google Voice, don't use a linked-number verification workaround to link an automated system.

If your Workspace account is eligible, let your administrator check out Google's automated-attendant instructions. Have LeadTruffle verify the intended destination and process. The ability to transfer from one phone number to another doesn't guarantee end-to-end compatibility.

3. Configure an eligible Workspace route

An administrator can set up an automated attendant to have a phone-number transfer action and the desired operating-hours behavior for Standard or Premier. Look over the attendant and publish the planned version. Please review number assignment, and don't reassign a live user number randomly.

Consider the selected route as an approved business configuration by an administrator. If the user or ring group sends only missed calls and no other type of incoming calls, ensure that a separate fallback path is set before claiming that it is supported.

4. Test the complete caller experience

Test the published number, menu selections and business hour changes that apply from an outside number. Verify where unanswered calls and failures are directed.

Verify the behavior of caller-ID and the interaction to be had with LeadTruffle. Maintain previous routing configuration and switch back to default if destination or fallback fails. Don't just use the automated-attendant preview.

5. Choose another verified route if your account cannot support it

If the desired behavior is not supported, talk with your administrator and LeadTruffle about a supported phone-provider route. Never guarantee that all Google Voice numbers can be ported or that a fix will maintain current functionality. Check number eligibility, number downtime and number migration impacts with number providers before planning a number change.

Voice answering and SMS are separate checks

A configured AI voice agent can answer a routed call. Missed-call text back is a separate workflow that depends on caller eligibility and consent. Forwarding alone does not guarantee a text, booking or CRM update. Confirm supported integrations.

FAQs

Can I link an automated answering number to personal Google Voice?

No. Google states that forwarding to an automated system is unsupported. Do not use a verification workaround.

Does Workspace Voice support phone-number transfers?

Eligible Workspace automated attendants support phone-number transfers, but your administrator must confirm the plan, route and destination.

Is an automated-attendant transfer the same as missed-call forwarding?

No. A menu, direct transfer or after-hours route does not establish conditional no-answer forwarding from an individual user.

Can I set this up in five minutes?

Account eligibility, number assignment and testing determine the time required. A fixed five-minute promise would be misleading.

Will all callers receive a text?

Not necessarily. Confirm the configured experience, SMS eligibility and consent handling.

Find a supported path for your Google Voice account

The right next step may be an administrator-managed Workspace route rather than a linked-number change. Confirm your account's options and the intended caller experience before planning forwarding or moving a business number.
